Answer: Spending a day inside with family. What a great day! We have been in the kitchen all morning and loving it. The grandchildren are spending the day with us today while their mom studies for her state boards. Sorry you cannot enjoy our results in the same way we did but you can see the fun. Pax
How odd it may seem for someone to say Happy All Saints Day. I think it is a wonderful thing. I love praying to the saints and teaching them as the perfect role models. They did not lead perfect lives but they all loved God and Devoted their lives to him so I say to you, "Happy All Saints Day".
Well after a summer of preparing, the show is finally over. It was great. We had a wonderful time. It was great to see so many customers who come to find me each year. Thank you all for such a great show.
Now we are home and will begin making new items to restock the store.
When I first entered my Pre-K classroom, I could not believe it. It is an old house. It is precious. I knew right away that I could make this so me and have a wonderful time making it all about Pre-K. Right now I am in the process of making 20 child size chef hats. I also made a trip to Lowes to purchase materials for a tee pee. The Teepee will be my reading corner. I promise to show you when I am finished with it. It will hold a glittered chandelier of coarse. It will be the perfect place to relax and read a book. The house even has a porch. I cannot wait to add pumkins to the porch. Now do you see what has been keeping me busy. That does not even include preparing for a show after hours. We are creating so many beautiful items for Tinsel and Treasures. I surely hope you are able to join us. I
When I first entered the Pre=K house, I was told that I did not need a desk because I would not have time to sit. Well you know me. I need my special little (very little) space. Here it is. I had this very old and eaten piece of furniture in the shop at home. I was already told by my absolutely better half that it would be thrown out. It was a stack of wood that was being thrown out to the trash. Well I picked it up from the street and brought it to this wonderful old gentleman in Mamou who loved working on pieces like this. He remade it into a piece of furniture which sat in my studio doing the job for years. Now that I needed a piece for me, I knew that this was the piece. It is not a desk. It is really my computer center. It is where I sit with my class in front of me on the rug and we use the projector and computer as whole group. I know you just have to love it. See the photos below. I wish I had a photo of the piece from the beginning. Thank you chalk paint by Annie Sloane.
It seems like forever since I posted to my blog. I am so sorry that it has taken me so long. I found out at the end of July that I would be switching schools and grades. I have been so busy preparing that I was at a loss for words with blogging. With the beginning of the new school year, training employees, and preparing for our biggest show of the year I can honestly say that for the next month my blogging entries will be scarce. Please join us for Tinsel and Treasures. I am preparing beautiful new pieces of jewelry, pumpkins, linens, slate, canvas and more. Please keep me in your prayers.
